SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES

The Center services persons of all ages with any type of disability. For youth up to 18 years of age, there are a wide range of programs offered throughout the year, especially in 2012, as the Center focuses on youth leadership initiatives. For parents and family members of youth with disabilities, the Center's staff is a tremendous resource. We welcome and encourage parents to contact us at any time, by phone or in person, to learn about ways in which we can support you and your child. What follows are key programs planned for the coming year at this time. Additional workshops, programs and opportunities, both through the local school districts or individual youth and family members, are often coordinated throughout the year as the need arises, so stay in touch, stay involved and stay informed!

“We’re here to applaud all of the great work all the staff does in leading the County – and down in Springfield -- to do what is necessary and what it right for its disabled residents. In stressing the importance of equality, you let us know if something is not being done, and working to promote what is being done right. In Pam Heavens, we have a wonderful, committed and compassionate leader that shares knowledge in a positive way…this organization would not be what it is today without she and her very diligent staff, so congratulations on this celebration."
